Privacy Policy
QuickCuts, Inc. ("QuickCuts," "we," "us," or "our") operates the QuickCuts customer app, barber app, and website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. QuickCuts is a neutral technology platform that connects customers with independent barbers; barbers are independent contractors, and QuickCuts is not responsible for their acts, omissions, or conduct.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: Name, email address, phone number when you register.
- Location data: Real-time GPS location when the app is in use to match you with nearby barbers or navigate barbers to customers. We do not store continuous location history.
- Payment information: Payment is processed by Stripe. We never store raw card numbers. We store only tokenized references provided by Stripe.
- Booking data: Service requested, date, time, location type, and booking status.
- Device information: Device type, OS version, and push notification token for sending alerts.
- App install identifier: A random number this app generates on your phone the first time you open it. We use it for one purpose only: to detect fraud, specifically someone signing in as both the customer and the barber on the same booking. This is not a device fingerprint. We do not collect your device model, operating system version, screen size, battery level, timezone, advertising ID, or any hardware identifier, and we do not use it to track you across other apps or websites. The number is meaningless outside QuickCuts, we store it only as an irreversible hash, and it is never shared with anyone. If you uninstall the app the identifier on your phone is discarded; reinstalling creates a new, unrelated one.
- Support conversations: If you use in-app support, we collect the content of that conversation. Voice support is recorded and transcribed so we can answer you and review the interaction if there is a problem. Chat support is stored as text. You can use email support instead if you prefer not to be recorded.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To match customers with nearby available barbers.
- To process payments and issue receipts.
- To send booking confirmations, status updates, push notifications, and transactional emails (such as payment receipts to customers and payment/cash-out confirmations to barbers) to the email address on your account.
- To verify barber professional licenses.
- To improve the app experience and resolve support requests.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited information only as needed:
- Between customers and barbers: Your first name and booking details are shared with your matched barber. Barbers see your service location for the booking. During an active booking, contact information (including a phone number) may be shared between the matched customer and barber so they can call each other to coordinate the appointment; this is limited to the parties on that booking and only while it is active. Barber contact details are otherwise kept private from other users.
- Stripe: Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Firebase / Google: App infrastructure, authentication, and database. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Retell AI: Powers our in-app voice and chat support assistant. Voice conversations are processed, recorded, and transcribed by Retell so the assistant can understand and respond to you.
- Expo: Delivers push notifications. Expo receives the notification token for your device and the content of the notification.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users.
3A. Support Access to Your Account
If you contact QuickCuts support, an authorized support representative may need to view your account in order to help you. When that happens:
- We will ask you to verify your identity using the email address and phone number on your account.
- A one-time code is sent to the email address on file, which you provide to the representative. Access is not granted without it.
- Access is read-only and time-limited. Support representatives cannot change your account details, cannot move funds, and cannot access your full card or bank account numbers.
- Every access is logged, including who viewed the account and when.
We never store your full card number or bank account number. Those are held by Stripe, our payment processor. QuickCuts stores only the last four digits and the card brand, which is what appears on your receipts.
3B. Payment and Hold Information
When you accept a price, an authorization hold is placed on your payment method. We record that a hold exists, its amount, and whether it was later captured or released. We do not receive or store your full payment credentials at any point in that process.
3C. AI Support Assistant
In-app support is answered by an automated assistant. You should know how it works before you use it.
- Conversations are recorded and transcribed. Voice calls are recorded; chat conversations are stored as text. This is processed by Retell AI on our behalf.
- It can see your own account only. Because you are already signed in, the assistant can look up your bookings and, if you are a barber, your payout status. It cannot look up anyone else's account, and it cannot see your full card or bank account numbers.
- It cannot move money or change your account. It can pass your request to a human, notify the other person on an active booking, or raise a safety report. It cannot issue refunds, change your payout destination, or alter your login details.
- A human may review the conversation if your issue is escalated, or to check the quality of the assistant's answers.
- You do not have to use it. Email support at quickcuts@quickcuts.hair is always available and is not recorded or transcribed.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data as long as your account is active. Booking history is retained for 2 years for receipt and dispute purposes. Support conversations, including voice recordings and transcripts, are retained for up to 12 months so we can resolve disputes and improve support quality. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us, or delete your account directly in the app under Profile, or at quickcuts.hair/delete-account.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at quickcuts@quickcuts.hair or call (801) 877-1549.
5A. California Residents
If you live in California, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, to request that we delete it, to request a copy of it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. The companies listed in Section 3 process data on our behalf in order to run the service: payments, infrastructure, notifications, and support. They do not process it for their own marketing.
To make a request, contact quickcuts@quickcuts.hair. We will verify your identity using the email address and phone number on your account before acting on it.
6. Children's Privacy
QuickCuts is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), Firebase Authentication, and Stripe for payment security. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
